NEVER HIKE ALONE (2017)

I'd feel bad if I said anything negative about this movie cuz I can tell it is a monumental labour of love. You gotta respect the genre love in this one. A fairly good found footage movie as well. Loved how much they played with the camera angles. I could almost never get into found footage because it's probably the most sludge ridden genre of horror; Besides slasher. Can't go wrong with a final boy movie. I know this series has a bunch of sequels, remakes, demakes, etc. (in true slasher franchise fashion), but I think i'm just gonna watch the 2017 one. I'm not a sequels guy. Except Bladerunner.

MAD GOD

What a visual feast of a movie. Just nasty upon nasty. This movie has almost zero story, so just enjoy the technical marvel of it. Trying to describe this movie is like trying to describe a painting; You'd never appreciate it as much as I did watching it, even though i'd like to verbalize it. Just go watch it.

I like how some of the characters sound like someone trying to come up with the coolest thing ever off the cuff. Dinosaurs with boobs fighting? Hell yeah.

A FIELD IN ENGLAND

Baby's first surreal horror movie. Despite being fairly experimental, it's not hard to follow. I think that's because it's not a very dense movie. The visuals are much more dense than the story; Just a basic man vs man character piece. Middling. I have to give props to the costumes, though. They really did their research for the setting and stuff. The low budget-ness really does this movie a favor. Keeping the story at such a small scale makes it feel all the more bizarre, like this field in England is a real place where strange, bad things happen.
